The Vourlia beach, which is located in the municipality of Lefki on the south-eastern side of Crete, can be reached by car in 10 minutes from Zakros, in 45 minutes from Sitia and in 1 hour from Ierapetra. The beach belongs to a beautiful resort. Its length is 250 m and its width 40 m. It is sandy and favours the growth of the crinums of the sea which are protected by the municipality’s environmental policy. The visitors can choose to stay in available hotels or rooms/apartments to let and visit, apart from the beach, the nearby archaeological sites (Etia, Voila, Farmakokefalo), the Monastery of Saint Sofia of Armenon, the Folklore Museum of Handra, the Archaeological Museum of Sitia and also to explore walking paths.
