Serifos is an island with a quaint beauty, preserving at the same time the traditional Aegean character. The whole island is a balcony to the northwest all blue and sunny Aegean. The most important of them is the church of Agios Ioannis Theologos (St. John), which is carved on a rock, on top of the ruins of the ancient temple of Athina (Minerva).

The Cave of Koutalas (Cyclop) is something to see. Its walls had crushed down and it was accidentally discovered when its entrance became connected to the galleries for purposes of mineral extraction. It features oddly shaped stalactites and stalagmites, while various findings that have been unearthed from the cave suggest that the latter was used as a place of worship in antiquity.
 

The village of Panagia (which takes its name - meaning "Our Lady" - from the dedication of a fine 10th century church) commands a panoramic view of the whole island. There are many cafes, bars and a few discos available to you. Having a meal on the beach is an experience.

Galani is a nice village with the fortified Moni (Monastery) of Taxiarchon, which contains 18th century frescoes and Byzantine manuscripts.

Livadi the island's port set in a wide bay with a horse-shoe-shaped tree fringed sandy beach. There are plenty of hotels, rooms to let and tavernas available, and is handy for the nearby beaches. Western to the port is Livadakia bay, an expansion of Livadi. It has a secluded sandy beach, a campsite, water sport facilities and tavernas.

The greatest attraction of Serifos is its magnificent beaches. Psili Ammos is the best. There are also other sandy beaches such as: Agios Ioannis, Agios Sostis, Ganema, Koutalas and Lia. Karavi and Sikamia are secluded beaches.
