The beach of Agios Pavlos is located approximately 60 kilometres southern of the city of Rethymno and about 50 kilometres from the popular summer resort of Agia Galini. It is a rather difficult beach to access and as a result it is very calm and very rarely gets crowded. It consists of fine grey sandy sand and clear blue waters. There are also some rocks that form small caves which enhance its beauty. You won’t find any sunbeds and umbrellas, or other facilities on this beach but you will be rewarded from the beautiful environment and the pristine waters. If you are looking for a place to stay or a restaurant to eat nearby, you can visit the village of the same name, which can be found within a small distance and has to offer some great traditional taverns serving delicious local recipes as well as some rooms to let.
