Neos Pirgos is a small coastal village of 1200 people, located 134 kilometers away from Chalkida in the northern part of the island and attracts lots of visitors during the months of the summer. It is also really close to the Baths of Edipsos, within a distance of 10-15 minutes by car. The biggest settlement of the area is neighbouring village Orei. Neos Pirgos was originally built from immigrants coming from Pirgos of Istanbul. It is considered a rather excellent choice for those who desire, starting from here, to explore the surrounding area through expeditions to the neighbouring villages and beaches such as Nisiotissa and Tsokaiti. If you wish to visit more distant places you have the ability, starting from Neos Pirgos, to arrive at Pilio by boat through Agiokampos or even at the Northern Sporades by taking the flying dolphin.
The visitors of Neos Pirgos also have the ability to enjoy the fresh fish that’s being served in the taverns during daytime and to have a great time in the area’s night clubs during nighttime. Most of those are located near its organized beach, a really alive place all summer. |
